Lapacho Bark
(Handroanthus impetiginosus)
The shredded or powdered bark of the Lapacho tree has been successfully used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes for more than a thousand years.

The University of Recife in Brasil has established that Lapacho acts as a powerful antibiotic against staphylococci and streptococci.

Apart from its antibacterial action it also has a general antiviral, antiparasitic, antifungal and antitumour action. It is a specific and effective remedy to treat Candida albicans, combined with dietary changes.

Lapacho taken internally as a herbal tea or tincture has no harmful side-effects when taken in a prescribed dosage, with the added benefit of having a pleasant flavour.

Externally Lapacho improves circulation in the skin, reduces inflammation and restores the acid layer that acts as a chemical protection. Applied regularly it tightens the skin on the face and the whole body and supplies it with nourishing minerals and trace elements.
For Dry skin

Mix 4 tablespoons of warm Lapacho tea with 2 teaspoons of honey, 2 teaspoons of wheat bran and 1 teaspoon of the pureed flesh of an avocado. Apply to skin and leave on for about 1 hour.

For greasy skin

Mix Lapacho tea with Fuller’s Earth to make a paste, apply to skin and leave on for about an hour. Remove the paste with warm water and protect the skin with a moisturising cream.

For beautiful hair

Wash hair with a gentle shampoo, add 1 tablespoon of camomile tea to 1 pint of Lapacho tea, leave for 15 minutes. Rinse hair thoroughly with this infusion, rub gently with a towel and allow to dry.

The ANTI TUMOUR qualities of Lapacho

In the 19th Century much research went into Lapacho. In 1967 Aberdeen University discovered that Lapacho had antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-tumour properties.

Medical doctors at the Municipal Hospital of Santo Andre reported that within thirty days of treatment using this herb, most cancer patients no longer exhibited pain and many that their tumours had disappeared or were greatly reduced. Research results show that Lapacho is readily absorbed and widely distributed throughout the body.

If tumour cells are present in the body, Lapachol can already found concentrated in these cells approximately six hours after intake. Lapacho selectively destroys tumour cells and hinders their multiplication without damaging the healthy body cells. It also stimulates the formation of red blood cells.
